Before a row earns a place

Nine Checks Before You Keep a Spreadsheet Find

A row deserves to stay only when it helps you make a clearer comparison. Print this page or use the nine checks as spreadsheet columns.

Quick answer

Score the evidence, not the excitement

One strong image cannot carry a weak row

Check category, photo coverage, identity clues, sizing, price context, weight, source match, QC relevance, and your save reason. A high score means stronger research support—not a verified seller, product, or transaction.

Nine-point checklist

Give one point for every check the current evidence supports

  • The item belongs in the category I am researching
  • The album or catalog photos show the details that matter
  • Watermarks and contact details are reasonably consistent
  • Sizing, measurements, or fit notes are visible when needed
  • Price is compared with similar results rather than judged alone
  • Shipping weight does not remove the value
  • The source or purchase link matches the item being shown
  • QC photos are relevant to the same item or source when available
  • I can explain why I would save this result

Scoring

Use the total to decide the research status

  • 8–9Strong shortlist candidate, but still not verified.
  • 5–7Research further before keeping it as a serious option.
  • 3–4Weak evidence; several comparison fields are missing.
  • 0–2Remove for now and avoid filling gaps with assumptions.

A score is an editorial triage tool. It is not a safety rating, seller review, product review, or purchase recommendation.

Examples

Strong example and weak example

Hypothetical strong example

The row explains itself

A neutral category, full album URL, copied item identifier, relevant source, visible measurements, price basis, packing note, and same-item QC angles are recorded. The save note names one remaining uncertainty.

Hypothetical weak example

The row depends on a label

One image, a shortened link, an unexplained price, no measurements, mismatched watermark, unrelated QC photos, and a claim such as “trusted” are saved without a traceable source.

One-sentence save rule

If you cannot explain the row, do not keep it yet

Save the result only when you can name the evidence that supports it, the gaps that remain, and the next responsible page that must answer them.
