How to Compare Wholesale Clothing Beyond the Front Photo

A T-shirt, hoodie, jacket, or pair of trousers can look convincing on a catalog page while leaving the fit, fabric, grading, and packing almost entirely unanswered.

Start with the garment

Name the construction before using style words

Record the product type, silhouette, closure, main panels, pocket structure, lining, cuffs, waistband, decoration method, and intended layer. Terms such as oversized, streetwear, heavy, premium, or unisex are not measurements.

For a comparison, a neutral description such as “pullover hoodie with ribbed cuffs and printed front” is more useful than a long promotional title.

Fit evidence

The chart should describe the finished garment and its method

GarmentMeasurements to look forQuestion that prevents a bad comparison
T-shirt or sweatshirtChest or pit-to-pit, length, shoulder, sleeve, and measurement method. Is the chest listed flat or around, and is length measured from the same point?
Hoodie or jacketChest, body length, shoulder, sleeve, cuff, hem, lining, and intended layer.Does the chart include the outer garment only, and how does the fabric affect fit?
Trousers or shortsWaist relaxed and stretched, rise, hip, thigh, inseam, outseam, and leg opening. Is the waist a garment measurement, body recommendation, or nominal label?
Tracksuit or setSeparate top and bottom measurements plus exact set contents. Can the top and bottom sizes be mixed, and does one code include both pieces?

Fabric and decoration

Treat material and weight as stated claims until they are supported

01

Fabric composition

Record the stated fiber mix and which panel it applies to. A generic material word may not describe ribbing, lining, filling, or trim.

02

Fabric weight

GSM or another weight figure needs a unit, test basis, and product context. It is not the same as packed garment weight.

03

Print or embroidery

Ask which method, placement, dimensions, colors, backing, and care limits apply to the requested variant.

04

Wash and finish

A color wash, distressing, coating, or brushed surface can vary. Record what variation is expected rather than promising an exact screen match.

Variant mix

Build the order by color and size before asking about MOQ

QC request

Ask for the views that answer clothing questions

  • Front and back of the exact color and size
  • Chest, length, sleeve, waist, or inseam measurement shown with a readable tool
  • Seams, hems, cuffs, waistband, closures, pockets, and lining where relevant
  • Decoration placement, edges, reverse side, and close detail
  • Size label and option code connected to the same garment
  • Visible condition under ordinary light, while allowing for camera and screen differences

Packing effect

Clothing weight changes with fabric, size, sets, and packaging

Record item-only weight and packed weight separately. A heavy fabric, larger size, layered jacket, retail box, hanger, individual bag, or multi-piece set can change the parcel comparison.

Vacuum packing may reduce volume but can affect presentation or suitability. Confirm the actual packing method and whether the quoted dimensions describe one item, a bundle, or a full carton.

Continue checking

Move from fit to quantity and inquiry

Save the clothing row only when the chart and the selected variant describe the same garment
